Important Announcement from Fr. Thomas

November 13, 2020

With gratitude to God, His Grace our Bishop Longin, the Parish Board, and the parishioners of Ss. Constantine and Helen Serbian Orthodox Church, I am writing to inform you I will be moving into a new position within this Diocese.

By official act of the Bishop (D.No. 45/20, dated 30-Jan-2020), I am officially attached to the Monastery of the Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow in Monteagle, Tennessee. In addition to serving the cycle of services, I will be responsible for developing pilgrimages and retreat programs for the monastery. I will be transitioning to this new assignment throughout November and December.

On Sunday, November 29, the V. Rev. Fr. Dragoljub, dean of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Texas, will serve Divine Liturgy in our parish. Sometime after the first of the new year, Vladika Longin will provide a new priest to take over for this venerable Serbian community. Until then, on those weekends when my duties at the monastery preclude me from being in Galveston, substitute Orthodox priests will serve Divine Liturgy. Please love and support them in their ministry to you.

After serving in Galveston for the last seven years, this move is an honor for both me and my family. During this time of change, I will continue to pray that the Most Holy Theotokos, Ss. Constantine & Helen, St. Sava, St. Czar Nicholas II, and all the saints look after each of you!
In closing, please consider making a donation to the parish. In light of these changes, we wish to ensure the parish begins 2021 stronger than ever, especially as we look forward to our 125th anniversary celebration. You may make a donation through our new website or by sending a check to P.O. Box 3280, Galveston, TX 77552.

In Christ,

Fr. Thomas Colyandro
